Renaissance Montessori Academy (RMA) is seeking a creative and experienced Music teacher to work as a Studio (electives/specials) co-teacher or assistant.
RMA is a long-standing non-profit Montessori School educating children 2.5 through Elementary. In our studio, students rotate in once a week for a 3.5-hour session to do art, music, language, science, cooking, and movement in a way to express themselves. The perfect person is creative and willing to try out new ideas, some messy, with students ages 2.5-10 years old.
Duties
This position can be full-time 8:00 am to 3:30 pm M-F, OR part-time 7:30 am - 12:30 pm M-F, school year plus in-service weeks, and prep-time, position. This position is specifically for the school year, but can extended to summer and school year camps as well.
With the support of the Lead Studio Teacher, the Music teacher will set up the studio, including creating materials, lists of items to be purchased, physical set up of the room, electronic set up of systems and assessments, and any other duties required to prepare the classroom. The teacher will Music teacher will support the Studio Lead to assess, collect data, manage the classroom, and support the children and families daily along with the leads in the children's main classrooms. The Music teacher will support the whole school and participate in school activities.
Requirements
The right candidate will:
Have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
Have experience in teaching mixed-age groups of children
Plan for, build and implement Spanish Curriculum in the Studio classroom that is congruent with the current Montessori program
Be willing to support a growing school with all of the growing pains that come
Take continuing education that supports the diverse learning objectives of RMA and its students
Attend and participate in all school events, trainings, and meetings
Uphold the RMA Core Values: Joy, Snug, Harmonious, Purposeful, Engaged
Be able to work in the United States
Have a clean background check
