Music Specialist & Song Leader - Day Camp

As the Music Specialist/Song Leader on the JCamps team, you will be part of the Specialist team in the Youth and Teen Department. The Music Specialist/Song Leader is accountable for all aspects of the assigned program area of camp. This position is a seasonal full-time position. The expected hours are from 8AM-4PM Monday through Friday. Seasonal work begins May 28 and goes through July 26 with opportunities to work through August 16. Hours are subject to change based on the camp's needs.
What you will be doing:

• Develop creative age-appropriate lesson plans related to Music.
• Prepare necessary instruments, speakers, and other equipment for performances.
• Facilitate Music outdoors for 2-3 groups each day, often seeing the same group (bunk) twice each week. Ages range from Kindergarten-6th grade.
• Perform twice a day, once for Flagpole and once for Song Session-important and exciting camp traditions!
• Program Jewish core values within this area.
• Facilitate, plan, and execute JCamps special events and theme days.

What you will bring:

• Prior teaching experience in music is preferred.
• Candidate must be able to play guitar or piano.
• Must be at least 18 by the start of camp and able to pass a background check.
• Positive attitude and self-motivated.
• Works well collaboratively in a team environment.
• Pass all required criminal history background checks (which may, depending on the position you are hired for, include an FBI fingerprint check).
• Adhere to our Mission, Core Values, and all HR policies and procedures.
• Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20-pound objects and possessing the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
