MUSIC DIRECTOR

Position Title:Music Director

Reports To: Worship Pastor

Hours Per Week: 20 Hours plus services (15 M-Sat, Rehearsals Thurs 2, & Sun 3 )

Summary of Position

The Music Director assists the Worship Pastor in cultivating a life giving, passionate and skillful culture of worship at The House Church (“THC”) through the spiritual and musical leadership of THC Dream Team and other people or groups as assigned by the Programing/Worship Pastor.

• Creative Ministry

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and implementation of the music for THC worship services and events.
• Assist in the training and coordination of all THC Worship Band teams.
• Assist the Worship Pastor with department planning and implementation of department projects and assist in achieving weekly goals.
• Participate on the creative team.
• Oversee, plan and lead regular rehearsals with bands.
• Contact potential Dream Team members and help them go through the process of becoming a member of THC Worship.
• Assist in helping Discover Graduates on to the THC Worship team.
• Maintain a working song list.
• Maintain technical equipment and musical instruments to meet the ever-changing needs of ministry.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, overseeing, and making budget recommendations for Worship Ministry and operating within the approved budget.
• Attend and/or lead a small group.
• Attend leadership meetings.
• Create special events/fellowships in your area of responsibility as opportunities for connection, discipleship, and relational growth.
• Manage and delegate office tasks to office volunteers as necessary.
• Oversee Music Directors at future THC campuses.
• Oversee THC youth MD.
• Maintain an up-to-date teams list and schedules for band and vocalists.
• Assist in the care and pastoring of the THC Worship Dream Team.
• Participate and help accomplish major THC Worship projects and department goals.
• Schedule band.
• Participate in the musical production of all THC services and special events.
• Create, coordinate and oversee the band INFUSE process for THC.
• Assist in the recruiting of potential THC Worship Dream Team members.
• Assist in printing / distribution of worship set list and chord charts.

Keys to Success: How can I succeed in this position?

• Have the required knowledge:
• Working knowledge of computers and basic computer programs, such as: Planning Center, Multitracks, Ableton, Pages, and MS Office Suite.
• Must have a strong knowledge of the rudiments of worship and music.
• Must have a strong background in talk back and music directing.

• Have the required skills:
• Proficient in Guitar and/or Piano.
• Ability to lead a band by creating, coordinating, and directing a worship experience with a team.
• Minimum of 3 years band experience in a local church.
• Strong leadership and creative skills.
• Ability to independently manage time based on job priorities.
• Ability to work well in a multi-task environment.
• Ability to lead and oversee teams.
• Solid team player.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn and use Church Community Builder software.
• Ability to learn and use Planning Center Online software.
• Ability to learn and use Ableton, Multi-Tracks, & Mainstage.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $6,000.00 - $14,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 per week
