Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $44,200 - Midpoint: $55,300 (Salaried E6)

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm; some evenings, weekends & holidays required

Job Summary: The Multimedia Journalist produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers under moderate supervision. Provides guidance and training to entry-level Multimedia Journalists and others. Adheres to the traditional tenets of journalism with reporting that effectively combines text, images, sound, video, and graphics. May be responsible for anchoring a news cast.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, or journalism and two (2) years of multi-media reporting experience; OR master's degree in broadcast communication, telecommunication and film, or journalism and some multi-media reporting experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 30 pounds. Must be able to work non-typical schedules, including weekends and special events. May work in inclement weather.

Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of how news is delivered on multiple platforms. High standards of journalist integrity and ethical decision making. Ability to turn content on deadline under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in advanced videography, cinematography, photography, field lighting, and television live-shots.
