- Position: Multi Skilled Tech - Post Anesthesia Care Unit
- Location: Edward Hospital - Naperville, IL
- Full Time
- Hours: 11:00am-7:30pm
- What we are looking for: In addition to the MST duties, this position requires a considerable amount of walking as you will be responsible for transporting patients during a few hours each shift. We are looking for someone who will be flexible as this position will require you to work in different units within the Surgical Services division.

What you will do:
- Sets up & breaks down area for RN, within the scope of role, utilizing knowledge of sterile technique.
- Triages incoming calls related to requests for services and then speaks with RN to prioritize cases.
- Promotes continuity of care by ensuring adherence to Vascular Access Guidelines and alerting leadership of any deviations.
- Provides support in light housekeeping, rearranging room to accommodate Ultrasound machine and vital equipment.
- Manages supply levels and equipment by completing routine inventory and re-ordering necessary supplies.
- Assembles insertion kits for RNs to use when placing their intravenous devices.
- Monitors charges on a daily basis.
What you will need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of six months of previous healthcare experience required or completion of one nursing clinical rotation or successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course
- Current CPR certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Basic knowledge of vascular access devices and related equipment
- Specialized sterile technique knowledge gained through on-the-job training
- Understanding of patient scheduling
- Advanced communication skills necessary to receive incoming calls related to patients requiring vascular access services, and frequent communication with the vascular access team required to triage/prioritize cases
Preferred:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Phlebotomy certification
