The Maintenance Tech/Interior Renovation Technician will perform multiple tasks in the process of updating the interiors of existing apartment communities. General duties will include demolition, carpentry, drywall, paint, light plumbing and electrical work.
Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws; e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing etc.
PRIMARY SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Demolition:
- Removal of existing appliances, cabinets, countertops, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, hardware, floor and window coverings.
Plumbing:
- Remove and replace all angle stops/shutoff valves and shower valve cartridges. Install new plumbing fixtures including sinks, supply lines, faucets, tub & shower trim, traps, waste & overflow and garbage disposers.
- Install switches, light fixtures, can lights, vent fans and appliances. Run new wiring & dedicated circuits for ceiling fixtures and kitchen appliances under supervision of the Electrician.
Drywall:
- Scrape acoustic ceilings (after testing for asbestos), making drywall repairs & patches, tape, skimcoat & texture.
Carpentry:
- Install cabinets, vanities and interior doors, baseboards and casings.
Paint:
- Apply primer and paint to drywall and wood surfaces
Countertops & Backsplash:
- Coordinate measurement and fabrication of countertops, install counters & backsplash tile
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs occasionally, and 30 lbs frequently
- Able to climb ladders up to 32 feet
- Clean MVD report
