Form of workResponsibilities:
- Setup & Operate 5 axis Mill/Turn machines and other secondary equipment.
- Work with CNC Programmers & Engineers to improve process, decrease cycle time and improve quality.
- Help develop new parts for full production run rates.
- Train new hires as department expands.
- Assist supervisor and engineering in problem resolution.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on all machines located within the cell.
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
- Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
Requirements:
- Experience operating Mill/Turn 5/6 axis machines with Siemens 840D sl controls.
- Experience in machine setup. DMG Mori DMC 125 FD 5 axis traditional tipping head machine and SHW UniSpeed 6T 6 axis orthogonal head on a horizontal ram preferred.
- Hands on problem solver.
- Experience in cutting tool selection (both mill & turn).
- Experience with High-Temp metals.
Knowledge/Training:
- 5+ Years operating CNC Machinery (5 Axis 2 years min).
- Proficient in Blueprint reading.
- Ability to use shop math (trigonometry and geometry).
