Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Custodial Lead positions for the Memorial Union (MU) at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Memorial Union (MU) is the campus student union and a department of the division of Student Affairs. The MU is geographically located in the middle of the campus and is considered the “living room of campus”. The MU welcomes students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the local community to campus, and its mission is to provide learning experiences and opportunities for personal growth in an open, inclusive, and resource-rich community where student and staff collaborate with a Student Advisory Board, who are influential to the character and scope of the department and provide the budget recommendations for the MU facilities, services and programs.

The MU provides community centered inclusive facilities and space that creates an environment for building meaningful relationships
The successful candidates will work with the MU custodial supervisor and custodial team to coordinate weekend custodial operations throughout the Memorial Union Organization.
Position Duties
- Lead fellow student staff in maintaining MU organization custodial coverage throughout the day
- Ensure meeting rooms, bathrooms, events spaces, and common spaces are clean and ready for guests
- Report problems, breakdowns, and disturbances to MU Building Management
- Assist in opening or securing doors, windows, and other access points in all MU facilities
- Pass down daily reports and status of projects in both written and verbal format to other staff across shifts
- Coordinate appropriate custodial response to immediate spill & thrill situations throughout all MU Buildings
- Participate in weekly meetings as part of the MU Building Operations Team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
- International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
