07/23Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Plans, organizes, directs, and attends all practice sessions and matches.? Develops a sound rapport with students and provides sound leadership; responsible for being an example of good sportsmanship; applies discipline in a fair, positive, and consistent manner according to prescribed procedures; responsible for general health and welfare of students and for the actions and conduct of student-athletes; provides students with the skills, tools and knowledge to make healthy life choices on and off the mat.
- Develops sound relationships with athletes, parents, faculty, and community
- Maintains cooperation with the Principal/Athletic Director and other school personnel; maintains consistent communication with the Athletic Director by keeping AD informed regarding the overall program, including trips, tournaments, matches, injuries, etc
- Develops a sound system for accountability, upkeep and protection of equipment, and record of inventory. Also follows the process prescribed as it concerns Program Budget.
- Develops a plan of action for fundraising for a specific activity.
- Completes appropriate paperwork, reports, and makes recommendations for improvement.

Any combination equivalent of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to acquire the knowledge and skills would be:
- Experience participating in and/or functioning as a coach/advisor in a particular activity.
- Knowledge of rules, theory, strategy, and regulations relating to the specific activity, including rules changes and new developments.
- Skill at providing leadership and developing rapport with students; constructing well organized and efficient practices and matches; communicating verbally and in writing; supervising students and school areas; and teaching good sportsmanship
