The MRS Assistant performs various clerical and indirect patient care tasks within the Radiology Department; data entry, accurately check films in and out to Doctors and patients, prints letters and reports daily.
- Provides data entry for Mammography/Ultrasound/MRI patient clinical data into MRS on a daily basis.
- With use of MRS technology, tracks patient appointments for recommended follow-up exams: (e.g. breast ultrasound, biopsy). Documents all correspondence in MRS.
- Ensures the OP schedule (e.g. Mammography, Ultrasound, MRI) for MRS matches that of PACS.
- Processes and verifies patient letters and reports from MRS are accurate. Sends correspondence to physicians and patients as appropriate.
- Consistently updates and maintains the Mammography hold list.
- Documents return letters in MRS. Prints and distributes patient letters, and doctors reports daily. Prints patient history sheets for following day.
- Maintains comparisons in MRS for all breast studies. Maintains patient and doctors follow up letters. This includes mailing of certified letters.
- Accurately checks films in and out to patients.
- Utilizes the hospital information system with proficiency, i.e. generate request accurately; edit request; film locator (check out/in); look up reports in profile and print; print Radiologist’s report.
