MRI TECHNOLOGIST
POSITION TITLE: MRI Technologist
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate Degree in healthcare
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Graduate of an accredited program approved by ARRT or ARMRIT
Experience: 1+ years' experience as an MRI technologist
Basic Life Support; CPR certified
American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT/MR) Licensure
Proficient in Microsoft Office and proficiency with PACS and RIS systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains an unrelenting focus on improvement and providing customer value.
- Responsible for reviewing patient orders, image requests, and patient questions.
- Perform image procedures while upholding patient service quality standards.
- Obtain patients' histories from electronic records, patient interviews, dictated reports, or by communicating with referring clinicians.
- Prepare comprehensive interpretive reports of findings. Perform or interpret the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures, including magnetic resonance imaging.
- Review or transmit images and information using picture archiving or communications systems.
- Communicate examination results or diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, or families.
- Evaluate medical information to determine patients' risk factors, such as allergies to contrast agents, or to make decisions regarding the appropriateness of procedures.
- Perform interventional procedures such as image-guided biopsy, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, transhepatic biliary drainage, and nephrostomy catheter placement.
- Confer with medical professionals regarding image-based diagnoses.
- Document the performance, interpretation, or outcomes of all procedures performed.
- Establish or enforce standards for the protection of patients or personnel.
- Monitor procedures to ensure adequate quality control of images. Interpret images using computer-aided detection or diagnosis systems.
- Must finalize and post-process all image procedures and prepare for review by other departments while completing the Single Patient flow.
- Daily prepare and respond to correspondence for unread exams, QA Notes, and inquiry statuses.
- Will be required to report any non-operable equipment and maintenance needs of imaging equipment to your supervisor.
DUTIES:
- Greet patients with a smile.
- Assist patients in the exam area and imaging suite.
- Enter vitals, pertinent history, and other medical information in EMR and PACS.
- Perform data entry.
- Attend all meetings and training courses as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Office Manager.

- Current CPR/BLS card
- Venipuncture certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires prolonged sitting, frequent mobility, pushing patients in wheelchairs, and some bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Requires manual dexterity sufficient for and proficiency in using imaging equipment and office machines such as telephones, computers, copier/fax machines, and other equipment, as necessary.
- Requires vision and hearing within a normal range.
- Lifting of up to forty pounds.
