Job Summary:
Under general supervision, responsible for operating MRI scanner(s) for diagnostic imaging purposes aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of pathology.
Job Duties:
· Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
· Transfers, positions and instructs patients regarding the procedure.
· Selects appropriate imaging techniques; operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data.
· Develops film in automatic processor and inspects for quality and completeness.
· Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Associate's degree and graduation from an approved AMA school of Radiologic Technology is required.
Experience:
One (1) year of related experience is required.
Additional Licenses and Certifications:
Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Current licensed in Medical Radiological Technology by the Texas State Department of Health or the Texas Medical Board is required.
Construction is underway on UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway, a five-story, over 100,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center. The center is slated to open February 2024 and will offer primary care, multiple specialists and in-house pathology and radiology facilities.
UT Health San Antonio and The University of Texas at San Antonio are collaborating to establish a new UT School of Public Health, which plans to begin accepting students in 2024. The research-intensive, community-centric school will focus on improved health outcomes and reduced disease complications and mortality in South Texas.
