Member Service Specialist
Role
To assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs; handles daily teller transactions, explains services, sets up new accounts, respond to problems, and direct members to the appropriate staff.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Assists members with daily teller transactions, opening and closing accounts, cd's, and digital services, answers questions about products and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations.
- Identifies cross-sell opportunities to the members for credit union products and services.
- Acts as a liaison between members and other departments within the credit union.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
- To provide excellent service to all members through established guidelines and expectations.
- To be knowledgeable in all Trona Valley products and services.
- Provide members with routine information on Trona Valley services or policies, such as, eligibility for membership, types of accounts, insurance on loans, interest rates, current dividend rates, locations, office hours and phone numbers.
- To accurately process all member transactions.
- To maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
- To adhere to all Trona Valley policies and procedures and all relevant federal regulations including BSA
Knowledge and Skills
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard
