Must have U.S.C.G. MOTV license or minimum license of 100 tons w/ towing and Western Rivers, Oceans and/or Near Coastal endorsements or better as well as radar endorsement, FCC License. Verified Medical Card. All in good standing. As well as the required TWIC.

Extreme knowledge of the Lower Mississippi River and all its regulations, from Baton Rouge to Venice, La. Extreme knowledge of New Orleans harbor and it's locks, docks and fleets, including the Harvey and Algiers canals and the docks along them. Well posted on the I.C.W.W. from Texas to Florida and all rivers, canals, bays and bayous in between.

Extreme Knowledge in the Gulf of Mexico, the Eastern Seaboard, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, and points beyond. oilfield service and construction, dredge support, anchor handling, contract towing, project and vessel management.

Principal Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe and efficient operation and performance of crew, vessel, and tow.
• The Captain must strive to see that company policy, rules, and regulations are followed.
• Conduct monthly drills and safety meetings in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Ensure that work completed in accordance with Company safety policies and practices.
• Carry out duties under the Vessel Security Plan as the designated vessel security officer.
• Enforce vessel guidelines in support of the Crew Endurance Management System.
• Participate in performance evaluation, supervisory duties and budget management.
• Complete required log entries.
• Maintain radio watch as required.
• Assist in care and maintenance of engine room.
• Give assignments and direction to the mate and/or lead deckhand.
• Maintain the vessel budget and help maximize cost efficiency as directed.
