Hybrid: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time, but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite at Concord, NC at minimum three (3) days each week.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals and a passion for software development and motorsports. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects being developed for the GM Motorsports programs (NASCAR, IndyCar, Sports Cars, F1, etc.) since our race teams rely on these tools to improve performance and optimize the execution of race events.

You will work with race teams and end users to ensure that a consistent product is provided and maintained such that the race teams can rely on GM provided tools to improve the performance of their race cars and optimize the execution of race events. As a member of the team, you will be asked to build scalable technical solutions, be a big-picture thinker, a strategic team-player, and have a genuine passion for doing what's right.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions

  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

  • Debug and troubleshoot issues and implement solutions in a timely manner

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in software development

  • Assist in the testing and deployment of software applications

  • Contribute to team discussions and brainstorming sessions to drive innovation and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with our Technical Product Manager and business partners to create effective identity solutions

  • Demonstrate strong ownership of the product and service

  • Work closely with race teams to perform software architecture assessments

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • BS in Computer Science or related field

  • Experience working on a Motorsports race team (IndyCar, NASCAR, F1, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and data structures

  • Demonstrable proficiency in programming technologies for desktop applications such as WPF and C#

  • Demonstrable proficiency in programming technologies for web applications such as Angular or React, CSS and HTML

  • Demonstrable proficiency in programming technologies for back-end services such as ASP. NET

  • Familiarity with software development tools and frameworks such as Visual Studio Professional or Visual Studio Code

  • Demonstrable experience with SQL databases

  • Demonstrable experience with QA procedures including unit testing and regression testing

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and Azure Dev Ops

  • Experience with Cloud Computing (Azure or AWS)

  • Experience with No SQL Database such us MongoDB

  • Experience with Dockers
