The position is located at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago Illinois, a aligned under the Office of the Director, Fleet Operations. The primary purpose of this position is to function as lead to the Motor Vehicle Operators in the performance of their duties.Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/08/2024.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed outdoors, and the incumbent is regularly exposed to extremes of temperature, inclement weather, rain and snow. In addition to the physical effort described drivers at this level exert moderate physical effort in operating, turning, backing, and controlling vehicles which carry heavier loads or larger numbers of people than vehicles at the grade 6 level. These actions are necessary to control vehicles and equipment, and occasionally to lift heavy items of up to 50 lbs.
