General Statement of Job
Under general supervision is responsible for the operation of heavy equipment and computers used in Mosquito Control. Requires proficiency with computer software including mapping, Excel and Word programs. Good verbal/written communication skills are required. Must possess South Carolina Pesticide License and be willing/able to attend continuing education classes as required to maintain license. Must possess a commercial driver's license.
Minimum Training and Experience
Education: High school diploma or GEDExperience:
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a dump truck, vactor truck, tractor and boom, dresser loader, and numerous small tools and equipment. Must be able to exert in excess of one hundred pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of fifty pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of twenty pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to one hundred pounds.

- Two (2) years experience in Mosquito Control and construction and/or maintenance operations
- South Carolina Pesticide License
- Valid commercial driver's license
- Associates Degree in science or engineering
- The City retains the right to determine equivalencies.
- Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.
