SUPERVISES: Mortgage Department Exempt
GENERAL FUNCTION
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Mortgage Manager with a strong focus on business development to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the growth of our mortgage lending business through strategic planning, relationship building, and innovative sales initiatives. This position requires a proven track record in mortgage lending, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide leadership and guidance to mortgage lending teams, including loan officers, processors, and support staff. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning to maximize team performance and effectiveness.
- Actively prospect for new mortgage lending opportunities by cultivating relationships with real estate agents, builders, developers, and other referral partners. Develop lead generation strategies and leverage networking opportunities to expand the customer base.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote brand awareness, build relationships, and identify business development opportunities.
- Formulate strategic plans and initiatives to grow the mortgage lending business. This involves identifying market opportunities, assessing competitive landscapes, and setting targets for loan origination volume and revenue growth.
- Prioritize customer satisfaction and retention by delivering high-quality service, addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly, and maintaining professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
- Oversee the mortgage origination process from application to closing, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop marketing strategies and campaigns to promote mortgage products and services to target audiences. This may involve traditional advertising, digital marketing, social media outreach, and participation in community events and sponsorships.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including lending laws, consumer protection regulations, and fair lending practices. Implement policies and procedures to mitigate operational risks and maintain adherence to industry best practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to mortgage loan production, including loan volume, pipeline management, conversion rates, and profitability metrics. Prepare regular reports, presentations, and updates for senior management on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends.
- Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation. Collaborate with product development teams to introduce new mortgage products and features that meet customer needs and enhance competitiveness.
- Assist in preparing, implementing, and maintaining the budget for the department that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget of the Credit Union.
- Formulate and maintain a complete mortgage lending procedures manual for staff training and referral. Administer mortgage/lending training and cross-training programs for employees.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in mortgage lending, with a proven track record of success in loan origination and management.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, including RESPA, TILA, and TRID.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in mortgage lending software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Mortgage loan originator (MLO) license required. Additional certifications such as Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) or Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) preferred.

- The ability to occasionally lift, push, pull or carry up to 10 pounds.
- Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, reaching above, at or below shoulder level, and kneeling.

- Excellent ability to communicate effectively.
- Occasional travel required.
