Mortgage Loan Processor

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Process Mortgage Loan applications including collection of all necessary documentation to complete the application and verify the accuracy of information provided by client.

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

• Initial loan set up and review of files from Loan Originators
• Work as a liaison to all parties in the loan process
• Support the efforts of the Loan Originators
• Validate loan data input
• Order Services, including but not limited to, flood certification, appraisal, tax transcripts, title
• Verify income, assets, and liabilities of borrowers according to guidelines, including but not limited to, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Mortgage Insurance companies, Investors and Home Bank
• Comply with regulatory requirements
• Review and comply with automated underwriting findings
• Initial underwrite of the appraisal report
• Independently maintain pipeline
• Monitor pre-purchase and exception report and process follow-ups to clear
• Accept additional responsibilities as assigned

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• High School Diploma: some college preferred
• A minimum of two years of mortgage or banking experience preferred
• Government loan experience a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Maintain a current working knowledge and understanding of all government compliance requirements related to the mortgage closing
• Strong knowledge of lending documentation, internal loan processes and governmental regulations and requirements
• Working knowledge of FHA, MIP, VA Guarantee Fee, USDA Guarantee Fee and private mortgage insurance requirements
• Demonstrate your ability to effectively manage relationship with internal and external customers
• Demonstrate your ability to analyze financial data and account information quickly and thoroughly
• Self-directed/motivated with ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, and adapt to change and meet deadlines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to diagnose, resolve or escalate a critical situation
