Mortgage Loan Originator

We are seeking a qualified professional for our open Mortgage Loan Originator position to work at our Arnold, Missouri location.

The Mortgage Loan Originator’s main focus is to guide members through the Mortgage Loan process from start to finish. In addition, it is crucial for this position to develop business and build relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, and existing and potential new members in an effort to produce high-quality loans that meet Arsenal guidelines while providing exceptional member service and mortgage support to all Arsenal locations. This position requires a passion for helping people and the ability to understand and navigate complex financial documents.

This position will be eligible for a hybrid work agreement after six months of employment with the expectation that you are in the office to attend company and team-sponsored events, team meetings, team building sessions, and as other needs arise. The ideal candidate will live in the St. Louis/Arnold area and commute to the corporate office.

What will you be responsible for?

• Develop and maintain professional relationships through cold calling, networking, and community involvement.
• Be well-informed on Arsenal’s mortgage products and related regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as overall knowledge of Arsenal products and services to cross-sell amenities of the credit union when applicable.
• Work with our marketing team to promote the mortgage program to members and potential clients.
• Meet with loan applicants to assess their loan requirements and provide recommendations based on their needs.
• Advise members on Mortgage Loan options and lead applicants through the process, providing ongoing member support with progress reports and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Prepare and send initial disclosures to member(s) in compliance with government regulations.
• Gather and analyze all application-required documentation, ensuring accuracy and meeting application requirements, and submit an application to the designated business partner.

What skills does this position require?

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Three-plus years of mortgage experience is required.
• Expertise with Mortgage Loan origination software is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workflow with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must have Notary Public or the ability to attain within three months of hire date.
• This position requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
• A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
• A strong understanding of state and federal laws surrounding lending.
• Knowledge of Mortgage Loan processing, loan closing, lending procedures, FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA regulations and guidelines, as well as other loan programs offered.
