Mortgage Assistant
Qualities of a successful candidate include:
- Must be a mature, responsible individual with a professional appearance, be dependable and take pride in their work.
- Attention to detail is a must in this position
- General PC knowledge and the Internet is required, must be capable of accurate typing, and learning various computer software programs.
- Familiarization with loan documentation requirements is helpful; however, loan documentation will be under the supervision of a Mortgage Banker so detailed knowledge is not a mandatory prerequisite.
- Must enjoy helping customers and fellow employees.
- Must be trustworthy and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must be able to multi-task and work under stress and pressure
- Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with co-workers and deal with colleagues effectively and professionally.
Responsibilities of this position include (but not limited to):
- Review Encompass screens to prepare for closing
- May Review and update final numbers from invoices and title work
- Make any necessary changes or updates per Inside Account Rep/Loan Officer/Processor
- Complete verbal verification of employment and final approval checklist and notify mortgage closer when loans are cleared to close
- May order and/or follow-up on changes to appraisals, homeowner’s Insurance Title documents
- Send updates to Loan Officer/Loan Processor in a timely manner
- May review file and e-folder to check for compliance that all required documents are obtained prior to loan closing
- Confirm Appointments for Inside Account Rep/Loan Office/Processor
- Schedules closings
- Research status of various permits
- Makes various loan paperwork copies and then scans into master loan file
