Responsible for review, analysis, presentation, and management of various accounting processes - including journal entry preparation and posting, balance sheet reconciliation, and preparation of financial reports, schedules, and advanced spreadsheets as required. Manage a supervisor and team of accountants in daily operations. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly close. Partner with Corporate Accounting to meet the reporting needs of the business and auditors. Lead or assist with special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and Mortgage Accounting reports prepared by staff.
- Ensure quality of daily cash reconciliations of all bank accounts related to Escrow, Mortgage, HOA, Payroll, Benefits, and Credit Card.
- Review weekly escrow reconciliation and interact with Escrow Agent on related issues.
- Oversee the month-end close process.
- Prepare and update policies and procedures related to Mortgage, Escrow, and Payroll.
- Work closely with IT in the creation, modification, and testing of departmental reports.
- Produce timely monthly and annual financial reports for internal management use.
- Provide critical support for interim and year-end audits.
- Maintain and improve proper internal controls that reduce risk.
- Perform ad hoc analysis of fluctuations/variances in the mortgage receivable activity.
- Work with multiple lease providers.
- Maintain lease schedules.
- Process and track invoices.
- Collaborate with departments to facilitate new and expiring leases.
- Evaluate existing and potential services that add value to Westgate Resorts.
- Perform Blackline administrative functions.
- Generate automated journal entries.
- Continuous improvement of matching rules.
- Other duties may be assigned.
MANAGEMENT RESPSONSIBILITIES:
- Manage supervisor, staff, and senior accountants; Provide timely feedback and evaluations.
- Develop team members.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is current.
- Set team goals; Implement process improvements.
- Drive the engagement of the team.

- Strong mathematical skills with a solid understanding of Investor Accounting and Mortgage Servicing.
- Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, and make valid conclusions.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented. Perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and communicational skills.
- Extensive analytical experience with a history of success in implementing change and process improvements.
- Proficient with Excel, pivot tables, functions, and data manipulation.
- Proficient knowledge of databases - Oracle.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Accounting degree with a minimum of eight years of business experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Knowledge of timeshare operations, timeshare regulations, and lender regulations preferred.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred.
- Experience with Blackline preferred.
