Chilled Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Morning Warehouse Manager to join their team of professionals in Bolingbrook, IL.
Schedule: Monday-Friday DAY SHIFT
Chilled Solutions located in Bolingbrook IL, was founded in 2014. We specialize in temperature-controlled warehousing of wine & and craft beer. We have more than 27 refrigerated trucks that deliver wine to Illinois areas. We provide pick & and pack handling and a variety of special value-added services.
The Warehouse Manager provides front-line daily direction and leadership to a team of hourly warehouse employees. Trains and develops the team while adhering to safety and departmental objectives such as ensuring the productivity, efficiency, and placement of accurate orders in the shipping operation. This includes management of warehouse staff and supervising the day-to-day operations of the shipping, receiving, and inventory areas. Build strong cross-functional partnerships. Responsible for overall inventory accuracy and reduction of operating loss due to negative inventory adjustments and cycle counts. Provides ongoing leadership to foster an environment of employee safety, quality, and delivery performance for the warehouse.
· Gives daily direction on shipping and receiving schedules, and unscheduled down times, and is responsible for the efficient utilization of all team members.
· Provides leadership in improving operating efficiencies, such as problem resolution, manages complexity, and strives to be proactive.
· Achieves established customer order fill rates.
· Manages all shipping and receiving for the warehouse.
· Assure accurate on-time shipping and receiving of goods.
· Tracks, traces, and expedites pick labels and orders to ensure on-time arrival to include the overall support of the warehouse flow of inbound and outbound shipments.
· Ensures timely actions on customer complaints and develops root cause analysis to resolve customer issues.
· Follows-up with carriers to ensure orders are OTIF (On Time in Full).
· Directly supervises warehouse employees.
· Develops, maintains, and delivers team feedback constructively and performance evaluations to provide personal growth and enhance team capabilities.
· Enforces Company rules, monitors attendance and provides corrective action (discipline) as necessary.
· Reviews safety guidelines, workplace safety policies, and OSHA requirements with warehouse employees
· Develop methods and implement process improvements that will increase efficiency and assures consistent flow of materials.
· Establishes operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials or inventory.
· Ensures that freezers in trucks and warehouse are working according to quality standards.
· Establishes standard work assignments for direct reports to support the delivery schedule, along with promoting safety objectives.
· Takes ownership for on-time delivery to customers; works cross-functionally to ensure that steps are in place to meet delivery commitment dates.
· Drives process improvement in all areas involving material delivery.
· Manages shipping logistics, including arrangements for both in-bound and outbound goods.
· Evaluates relationships with external vendors, such as freight carriers; works to reduce cost and improve vendor performance; optimizes the utilization of vendor services.
· Determines capacity of warehouse and staffing levels, based on projected volume; support recruitment efforts as needed.
· Leads all performance management activities, including performance appraisals, disciplinary matters, and other related activities, by partnering with Human Resources team members.
· Helps identify and justify equipment and facility needs for the Warehouse organization.
· Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, department meetings.).
· Informs supervision of any problems or complications that may arise
· Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
Final Mile Driver Experience.
· Experience with emphasis on Logistics/Transportation.
· Progressive knowledge of warehouse Operations.
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
· Team player, problem solver, good coaching/teaching skills and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
· Computer experience, production planning systems and Microsoft Office
· Results oriented- hands on Management.
· Leadership, management & vision necessary to ensure that the facility has the proper operational controls & work to meet or exceed expectations with a sense of urgency.
· Flexibility with people and operational assets.
· Problem Solving Skills.
· Integrity in every action, respect for all.
· Associates Degree preferred.
· 5 plus years warehouse experience.
· 3 years prior management experience; or equivalent experience and/or training
Abilities and Skills:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Organized and attention to detail
· Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Must have a valid driver’s license, as well as license to operate industrial trucks or equipment. Must be able to operate forklifts, jacks, cherry picker or other lifting apparatus
