Morning Lettuce Greenhouse Worker - Afternoon Warehouse Worker

Job Description: The person filling this position will assist in the morning operations of Swanky Roots, Inc. commercial aquaponic greenhouse in Billings, MT and Afternoon Warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will need to be able to be moving throughout the building for the entirety of the shift.

Duties may vary from day to day, and can vary from clerical in nature to work in the greenhouse. Greenhouse tasks will include, but not limited to: seeding, transplanting, harvesting and packaging of lettuce, greens and other vegetables, cleaning, feeding fish, and record keeping. Warehouse tasks include, but not limited to : opening boxes, organizing merchandise, labeling, and packing orders.

This position is PART time with the potential to be Full time and will require work on occasional weekends in addition to the weekdays.

No prior plant, aquaponic, or warehouse knowledge is needed. We will be able to train the necessary skills. Just a willing to learn and be on the move !

Requirements and Skills:

• Able to work independently as well as with a team
• Able to move for extended periods of time
• Able to lift 30 pounds
• Self-motivated and a positive attitude
• Be willing and able to take and follow instructions
• Be tidy and have the ability to recognize when things need to be cleaned
• Tolerate extended periods of standing/ walking / moving
• Tolerate high temperatures and high humidity
• Ability to learn about products and communicate with customers about products

Clerical Responsibilities

• Update company forms and make copies as needed.
• Inventory of supplies as well as reordering of greenhouse supplies in coordination with managers
• Answering the phone and placing calls
• Order entry and order confirmations
• Filing as needed
• Mailing invoices and statements when required
• Online ordering system

Customer Service Responsibilities

• Welcome all visitors in a friendly manner
• Tend to customers and suppliers on the phone as needed, and occasionally take orders over the phone
• Understand products and be able to engage with customers and give recommendations
• If special event/retail event occurs, help tend to guests and/or customers

Housekeeping Responsibilities

• Keep the front office tidy and organized
• Keep greenhouse free from debris
• Keep work station tidy and organized
• Dusting and window cleaning
• Bathroom and office room cleaning
• All other duties and responsibilities as directed by managers as needed.

Training we will provide

• Daily operation of the Swanky Root’s Inc., aquaponics greenhouse which utilizes Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Clear-Flow System
• Aquaponics and Controlled Environment Agriculture
• Sustainable food production and sales
• Warehouse training

Job Type: Part-time

Hours will be between 7am - 2pm

Between 12- 30 hours / week

There will be a month prohibition period with review.
