Position: Montessori Toddler Teaching Assistant Location: La Bella Vita Montessori School, Omaha, NE Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
Assist the lead Montessori teacher in creating a prepared environment that encourages exploration, independence, and growth for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years.
Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and implement age-appropriate Montessori activities that stimulate intellectual, social, and emotional development.
Observe and record the progress of individual children, ensuring that each child's needs and interests are met.
Support the children in developing essential life skills, such as self-care, grace, and courtesy.
Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture by promoting empathy, conflict resolution, and cooperation among the toddlers.
Maintain a safe and clean learning environment, ensuring that all Montessori materials are well-maintained and organized.
Assist in facilitating daily routines, including mealtimes, naptimes, and outdoor play activities.
Communicate effectively with parents, providing regular updates on their child's development and progress.
Attend professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance knowledge of Montessori principles and best practices.
Embrace a growth mindset and actively seek ways to improve teaching techniques and classroom engagement.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Montessori training or certification is a plus.
Previous experience working with toddlers in an educational or childcare setting.
A genuine passion for early childhood education and a strong belief in the Montessori philosophy.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
Excellent communication skills, both with young children and their parents.
Flexibility and adaptability in handling the dynamic nature of a toddler classroom.
Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly and inviting Montessori environment.
Need to be at least 20 years old and have at least one year minimum full-time verifiable experience working with children in a group setting (Examples would be working in a child care center, Sunday School, or other job working with children younger than 13 years old and can be verified by a letter from that employer) Only truly qualified and interested candidates should apply.

Salary: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
