Bainbridge Island Montessori is looking for a strong, passionate, and experienced guide to join the team as our new toddler lead. The most qualified applicant will be knowledgeable in and responsible for cultivating a peaceful, respectful, empowering, and safe learning environment according to the Montessori Method. As a growing community, we are looking to open our doors to the most compatible candidate. The right fit will be someone who is looking forward to beautiful work with children and within the community, refine their skills as a Montessori Guide, and participate in a team environment where inspiration, motivation, and professionalism are highly regarded.
Classroom duties include, but are not limited to:
Create a developmentally appropriate, beautifully prepared environment in a way that allows the children to see and access all available materials.
Assemble and present activities that not only support the child’s independence and emotional intelligence, but also accommodates all developmental levels within the classroom.
Supervise all working parts of the classroom, including ensuring everyday items are stocked, and that Emergency Grab-n-Go Backpacks are audited and kept current.
Train and guide assistants, volunteers, and specialists on classroom best practices and the Montessori philosophy
Observe and support children’s individual learning processes and ensure developmental needs are being met.
Assemble and rotate classroom works/materials as needed, and maintain cleanliness and organization of school materials.
Submit daily updates and maintain records via Transparent Classroom, including tagging photos, noting observations, and checking attendance.
Communicate with parents through weekly Transparent Classroom updates, emails, or scheduled meetings as necessary.
Maintain communication with administration about any special interest that may arise.
Attend all scheduled in-service days, Montessori Nights, and meetings
Become familiar with and uphold all school policies and procedures
