Job Summary:

• Responsible for clerical and secretarial unit management and observation of real time cardiac monitors within the Progressive Care Unit.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED with unit secretary training and/or applicable experience.
• Hospital background preferred.
• Knowledge of medications, medical terminology and spelling.
• Current BLS.
• Certified Nurse Aide II certification preferred.
• Keyboard skills and familiarity with computers essential.
• Ability to interact with the public courteously and effectively.
• Ability to work in a busy area, adapting to frequent interruptions while maintaining efficiency, a calm demeanor and a pleasant approach.
• Knowledge of multi-line telephone.
• Rhythm interpretation training and experience with basic ECG course highly preferred.
