Responsibilities:

• Disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling molds for the production line
• Tends machines that clean or polish forming molds components by any of following methods:Starts pumps on vapor-blast machine to circulate water cleaning compound through hose
• Places parts on table push table into machine cabinet
• Pushes control lever to start flow of compressed air through hose
• Holds and turns parts while directing pressurized stream of water cleaning compound onto parts to remove dirt, carbon, and scales
• Dips parts in oil solution to prevent rusting
• Inserts and secures blank mold plunger into chuck of open-end polishing jack or lathe
• Holds emery cloth over rotating plunger or inserts rod, covered with emery cloth, into mold to clean polish parts
• Holds turns parts against rotating emery wheel
• May soak parts in hot cleaning compound or scrape parts, using scraper to loosen or remove scales carbon
• May rub mold surface with oil or kerosene abrasive stone or wire brush to remove scale, rust, scratches, and dirt
• May apply cork or graphite paste coating to mold interiors to prevent adherence of glass to molds during forming operation
• May store cleaned molds in storage bins
• May transfer molds mold parts from storage to production area, using hand truck
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High School graduate or G.E.D. and/or equivalent work experience desired. Prior quality inspection experience preferred but will be supplemented by on-the-job training.
• Must be able to input basic data into a computer system.
• Must be able to work in cooperation with others.
• Must be attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in work assignments.
• Must be able to take direction from supervisors.
• Must be reliable to come to work and have a reliable form of transportation.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This position requires individuals to constantly be on their feet. This position requires frequent movement, bending, and carrying up to 50 lbs in a high temperature environment. This position requires a gentle touch with parts, while at the same time the strength and stamina to work with molds that can weigh over 200 lbs. with mechanical assistance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.

This is an ONSITE role, remote work is not available.
