MOHS HISTOTECHNICIAN

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Perform various tasks required for receiving, processing and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the Pathologist.

Under the supervision of the Pathology Supervisor, performs all technical histology laboratory’s functions which included but are not limited to accessioning, grossing (skin only), tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, routine H&E staining, and special stains. This position will be working with our Mohs team.

Performs other duties and assumes various responsibilities as determined by team lead/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of a NAACLS accredited histology program OR Associates Degree plus one full-time year experience in histopathology within the last three years under the supervision of a Pathologist.

Current valid ASCP certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) required.
