WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE: Under the supervision of the Superintendent, this position supports the Maintenance Department in all areas of equipment and mold maintenance (repair and set up; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school education or equivalent.
- On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
- Able to operate a forklift and have six (6) months of forklift experience, preferred.
- Must be able to obtain Basalite’s forklift certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers, vendors, and superiors verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Standing, walking, talking/listening, simple grasping with both hands, and reaching with hands and arms below shoulder level.
- Lifting up to 80 pounds.
