Modeling And Simulation Systems Engineer

Velos is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer to provide Mod/Sim expertise supporting the development and integration of existing / new models And Simulation tools to support a large portfolio of complex programs within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). This position will support the government Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) on the design, development, integration, and oversight of the use of various models And Simulation tools in support of acquisition and development programs.
Essential job functions will include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing design and development of various models And Simulation tools for space vehicle, component, and ground system development and test activities
• Providing technical support to Government customer activities and programmatic processes
• Developing documents and briefings to communicate development and implementation status, briefs Government and industry as required
• Supports Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Developers by coordinating with other technical domain SMEs and program stakeholders to achieve a detailed understanding of the designs, and interfaces necessary to satisfy mission requirements
• Reviewing Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, technical accuracy, and sufficiency of design details to meet program requirements and objectives
• Participating in technical interchange meetings between developers and COTR

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years' experience in a space / aerospace engineering role, with at least part of that time working in Modeling And Simulation
• Experience using one or more of the following: C++, Python, R, SQL, PostgreSQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA, or STK
• Experience in RF systems design, specifications, development, manufacturing, and test
• Strong written and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
• Experience using Systems Engineering processes, methods, tools, and program roles to develop, implement, and deploy solutions for Satellite Systems

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in physics, electrical engineering or related technical discipline

Clearance Requirements:

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
