Job Description
The White 9 Medical Unit Mobility Aide will provide routine mobilization of patients within an assigned unit in accordance with established policies and procedures under the direction of the interdisciplinary team (Nurse, Physical/Occupational Therapy, and Physician) to execute the mobilization needs within their patient populations.

- 20 hours per Week, Weekend and Holiday rotation;

Mobility Aide will routinely perform mobilization responsibilities including:
- Mobilize patients to walk the hall
- Mobilize patients to a chair for meals
- Rounds on patients to offer to walk to bathroom/transfer to commode
- Assist with utilizing lifts to support bed bound patients to a chair
Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for assignments of mobility patients
- Provides patient care including assisting with daily patient ambulation unique to each patient's needs.
- Works collaboratively with Physical/Occupational Therapy and Nursing Staff to provide proper patient mobilization including appropriate use of basic assistive devices including canes and walkers.
- Communicates with RN regarding any changes in patient condition.
- Documents activities performed in the medical record according to established procedures.
- Complies with safety policies and procedures including all precautions.
- Performs assigned work in a timely and productive manner.
- Requests assistance in planning and prioritizing activities as needed.
- Constructively receives feedback and direction.
- Identifies and communicates learning needs to their manager. Takes action to improve knowledge, skills, and performance.
- Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to patients and colleagues.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate appropriately, clearly, and effectively with all members of the health care team.
- Establishes professional and respectful interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, and family members.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures relative to patient care and hospital related information.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be well organized and have sound judgment
- Displays excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer knowledge.
