Growing Places is a nonprofit, healthy food access organization serving North Central MA. We work to improve the health of our region through an equitable and just local food system. Our growing, dedicated and passionate team is looking to engage a member of our community to coordinate our mobile farmer's market. The market is on wheels and visits about 25 locations across the region each month to provide healthy fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey, sourced directly from local farmers. The Mobile Farmers Market Coordinator supports this program across all facets from planning to implementation and distribution.

Weekends: 2 Saturdays per month required

Duties include:
Mission and Work Culture
- Responsible for being a representative of Growing Places mission and culture, in a respectful and inclusive manner at all times
- Maintains positive ad respectful working relationships with Growing Places diverse team, volunteers and community partners
- Keeps an open and understanding mind while working with customers of diverse backgrounds, cultures and life experiences
Planning and Community Outreach
- Work with community partners to schedule the mobile markets each season
- Lead marketing and promotion efforts to increase awareness about the mobile market with priority populations and the broader North Central MA community
- Work with Growing Places Directors to integrate other related programs into the mobile market and promotional materials
Direct Service
- Prepare, load and unload the mobile and/or pop-up market items and materials according to Growing Places policies and procedures.
- Safely and responsibly operate the mobile market according to the daily schedule
- Ensure that Growing Places' mobile market displays a high level of acceptance, cultural competency, quality and consistency for community members
- Enforce market policies and guidelines according to Massachusetts Farmers Market recommendations
- Coordinate nutrition benefits program acceptance on the markets including SNAP/HIP, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Coupons.
Education and Awareness
- Help to increase awareness around SNAP/HIP (MA Healthy Incentive Program https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massachusetts-healthy-incentives-program-hip )
- Collaborate with community partners to host pop-up market events to increase market participation, SNAP Enrollment and home delivery program enrollment.
- Identify and integrate additional community resources to enhance the market experience (I.e. Cooking demos, sharing recipes, collecting recipes from the community, etc.)
- Disseminate information at markets about Growing Places SNAP eligible home delivery program sign-up and other Growing Places programs related to nutrition, health and sustainability.
Data and Reporting
- Implement data tracking measures at markets according to Growing Places and funders policies, guidelines and grant commitments
- Conduct market surveys with customers to assess and ensure the impact and success of the Growing Places Mobile Market

Qualifications
- Experience and competence driving a delivery van or truck with a small trailer. Professional driving experience is strongly preferred
- Mission driven and caring individual, passionate about the community and improving local food access in North Central MA
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be autonomous in a busy work environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or less
- Excellent customer service skills, and commitment to serving vulnerable populations
- Massachusetts Driver's License and proof of insurance
- Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking candidates will be given first preference
