We also believe that all staff have an important role to play in maintaining the wellness of our communities – and we are looking for bright, talented people to fill those roles!

If that’s a mission that excites you, read on!

What We Offer

Pawnee is proud to offer a full range of benefits to all our full-time staff! We are able to offer a full range of health, dental, and vision insurance through the State of Kansas, as well as a retirement plan through KPERS. We are also proud to provide competitive wages, generous paid time off (15 days your first year and 24 your second), and several voluntary benefits like ambulance and disability insurance, among others.

The Role You Play

The Mobile Crisis Manager supervises the development and day-to-day functions of the Mobile Crisis team over the 10-county Pawnee Mental Health service area. Mobile Crisis is a community-based intervention serving individuals in need wherever they are; including at home, work, or anywhere else in the community where the person is experiencing a crisis. Teams consist of Case Managers and Peer Support Specialists.

  • The Day-to-Day
    1. Respond to clients in crisis where they are (home, work, park, other community locations, ect) – services will not be restricted to certain locations or times of day.
      • This will require the ability to drive to community settings, and navigate in areas which may not be easily accessible as the client needs.
    2. Connect clients with other crisis clinicians or facility-based care as needed; responding without law enforcement or EMS unless special circumstances warrant.
    3. Compile reports to ensure clients served are having referred services provided in a timely manner and meeting their unique needs.
    4. Gather and report on data for state and grant requirements.
    5. Hire, train, and evaluate a competent staff to perform Mobile Crisis services in the community, and ensure proper coverage.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    1. Meet clinical and ethical documentation standards.
    2. Provide clinical support to the Crisis Stabilization Unit, including working unit shifts and being on call for clinical questions as assigned by Crisis Director.
    3. Triage and screen for suicidality, de-escalate and present resolutions, coordinate with medical/behavioral health services, and create a crisis plan and follow up.

Who You Are

This position requires flexibility in scheduling – you will be responsible for building this program up to a 24/7 availability. In addition, this is a management position, and the ideal applicant will need a demonstrated history of effective management and conflict resolution skills. You’ll also need a proven ability to visualize, strategize, and achieve your goals. Most importantly, you’ll need to bring a passion for your community and the work we do to assist our patients.

  • Required
    1. A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institutional setting.
    2. Licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board of the State of Kansas and able to meet the statutory definition of Qualified Mental Health Professional.
      • Any master’s level licensure will be accepted including LMSW, LCPC, LPC, or LMFT.
    3. A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and automobile liability insurance
    4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, using the English language
    5. Basic computer skills
  • Preferred
    1. 1+ years of supervisory and/or program management experience.
    2. Knowledge of the needs and challenges of adults who experience severe and persistent mental illness
    3. Prior experience in a mental health crisis setting, or working with individuals experiencing a mental health crisis
    4. Experience with Microsoft Office

Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services. Incumbent will be required to complete a state-approved Case Management training specific to the focus of the position at their first available opportunity.

Pawnee Mental Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all applicants will receive equal and equitable consideration without regard to race, religion, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, or any other status or condition protected by law.
