Job Position Summary Description / Key Responsibilities / Functions:
• Develop end-to-end security designs for Alcatel-Client IPTV & MMI customers
• Develop security engineering for configurations for Alcatel-Client IPTV & MMI
customers.
• Based on security experience, recommend solutions and define solutions that may
encompass DRM technologies, Encryption, PKI, IPSEC, Firewalls, ACLs, vulnerability
assessments, 802.1x, and security best practices.
• Provide end-to-end security architecture design and engineering services for various
IPTV customers.
• Provide leadership and develop detailed solution security design for IPTV deployments,
including addressing the necessary security considerations for servers/storage,
middleware integration, virtualization, database, etc.
• Works with other Subject Matter Experts and customers to develop security aspects of
IPTV solutions including IP network design, QoS, protocols, routing, redundancy,
reliability, etc.
• Provides security related technical leadership for the MMI Network Architecture &
Engineering teams to design, implement, and support data center networking solutions
for hosted IPTV applications
• Creates detailed written documentation of technical solutions and present the plans and
designs to senior management, peers, and customers.
• Prepare and present presentation material for varied audiences from engineering and
operations to executive levels describing security architecture, design and
implementation for solutions.
• Interact/interface with end customers, internal organizations, & suppliers in support of
IPTV & MMI security solutions.
Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge) A successful candidate
for this position is expected to possess the following skills and experience:
• Strong working knowledge of IP Networking including QoS, routing protocols,
redundancy, and reliability.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory principles and deployments and
Microsoft server Operating Systems
• Knowledge of IPTV middleware deployments and (preferably) Mediaroom middleware
• Knowledge of database systems and storage and server configuration
• Experienced in network security solutions, including IP filters, stateful firewalls, intrusion
detection and attack mitigation.
• Demonstrated strong understanding of security aspects of various network services
(ports and protocols).
• 3-5 years minimum experience working with complex IP network solutions, including
familiarity with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), IP multicast (IGMP, PIM), and MPLS
• Possess a detailed understanding of solution security design, including the necessary
security deployment considerations for servers/storage, middleware integration,
virtualization, database, etc. for the IPTV deployments. Microsoft Mediaroom related
security experience is desired.
• Proven experience designing, engineering and configuring service provider networks
with either Cisco switches and routers or Alcatel-Client 7750 routers. Current
experience with Cisco, Juniper, and FortiNet firewall products preferred.
• Extensive experience in customer-facing roles, interfacing with customer executive,
management and engineer levels.
• Proven track record of creating innovative solutions, from design to implementation and
customer deployments
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal skills and attention to detail
• Proven IP network troubleshooting experience is preferred.
• Current Cisco (i.e. CCNP or CCSP) and/or Alcatel-Client (i.e. NRS, 3RP, SRA)
networking certifications preferred
• MCSE and/or CISSP certifications preferred
• Experience designing and building data center networks, including server load
balancing, content optimization, and virtualization solutions is desired
• Demonstrated strong experience with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Visio, and Access. UNIX and PERL experience is a plus.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required
