Perform laboratory testing in a Moderate Complex lab, work the bench and perform phlebotomy. Rotating Acute Care shifts on evenings and weekends.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
Hematolgy, Chemistry, Automated ESR and Urine Analyzers. General kit and PPM testing also. Manual ESR, Molecular testing for Flu, RSV, and Strep on Cepheid, and Urine Analyzers. General kit and PPM testing also. Beaker (Epic) LIS system
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Must be able to multitask in busy environment. Competent in phlebotomy on Pediatric to Geriatric patients. Perform routine Daily task, Maintenance and Trouble shooting on instruments and equipment. 3+ years laboratory experience required.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
MLS/MLT from ASCP or equivelant certification.
Shift or schedule requirements.
Yes the employee will be required to work alone. ~1-3 times per week on evenings. Call is not required. Weekends are required rotating ~ every 5th to 6th rotating weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) We have 8, 10, and 12 hours shifts.
Floating to over units/departments.
Will float between laboratory bench & phlebotomy duties daily.

Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
Moderate Complex Laboratory, with a 4 week orientation/training period. During the 4 weeks techs will work on teaching daily tasks, instrument use and maint. Techs will also observe phlebotomy and kits testing skills and document training. A Beaker (EPIC) LIS training class will be assigned to teach the specific tasks of using the LIS System.
