Libertyville School District 70 is anticipating the need for a ML teacher for grades K-8 for the 2024-2025 school year.

EL or ESL Endorsement (incl. Middle School)
Purpose: To provide services to identified students with ML needs; assisting students and staff so that students can be successful in the least restrictive setting.
Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities: (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)
- Assists with evaluation of ML students and determines eligibility for services.
- Provides an educational program and interventions needed for students according to ISBE specification.
- Provides necessary accommodations, adaptations, and strategies to promote student success.
- Provides consultation services to general education teachers, interpreters and other staff, and relative to student's ML eligibility.
- Works cooperatively with the classroom teachers who have students with ML needs or interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students, assisting in classroom intervention strategies, and assisting the student in regular assignments.
- Provides individualized instruction, as appropriate, to students.
- Communicates regularly with parents and professional staff regarding the educational, social, and personal needs of the student.
- Arranges and facilitates interpreting for parent-teacher conferences, if needed.
- Develops and implements an individualized program for each student complimentary to his/her educational, social and emotional strengths and weaknesses.
- Completes necessary reports and daily record keeping as required by state and local policies and procedures. Consults with administrative and supervisory personnel regarding progress and problems of students in the program.
- Develops and implements a system of tracking and evaluating students' academic and social performance on a daily basis.
- Serves as a liaison between school/family and outside resources.
- Participates in professional growth activities through staff development, inservices, workshops and higher education.
- Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by an administrator.
