Volunteers of America (VOA) is a faith-based, nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. We provide hundreds of service programs, including those for seniors and people with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, and those recovering from addiction. VOA is one of the nation’s most comprehensive human services charities, offering programs for communities, individuals and families. 

VOA is seeking an Intern to support our Ministry Development team. This team works to position VOA's Ministry of Service and Church Without Walls to lead a movement of non-biased, nonprescriptive faith-based programs, resources and initiatives to growing populations of vulnerable individuals. 

 This position is part-time (up to 20 hours per week) and is based completely On-Site

The internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided

The selected candidate will have an exciting opportunity to support this team’s administrative, education and event activities! Our 5- year strategic goals include (but are not limited to):

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with research for Ministry Development education and training
  • Assist with research and content creation for Ministry Development marketing materials
  • Affiliate and minister outreach for various Ministry Development programs 
  • Assist with the onboarding of VOA ministers into Ministry Developments new database

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ideal candidate fields: communications, theology, database management or social sciences
  • Strong oral and written communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Experience with document layout and design utilizing the Microsoft Office suite and other computer programs
  • Must be comfortable working with the public and organizing work to meet specific deadlines

Qualifications:

Physical Capabilities:

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods
