Position:
Mining Surveyor/GIS Specialist
Location: USA | Belle Fourche, SD
Responsibilities:
Position Overview:

We are looking for a qualified Mining Surveyor/GIS Specialist to play a key role in our mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting accurate surveys, utilizing GIS technology to analyze spatial data, and providing critical information to support mining activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic and environmentally conscious mining company.

Responsibilities:

Conduct precise and reliable surveys to determine boundaries, elevations, volumes, and other relevant topographical features.
Utilize GIS software and technology to create, analyze, and interpret spatial data for mining projects.
Collaborate with mining and environmental teams to provide accurate survey data for project planning and development.
Maintain and update GIS databases with current and accurate information.
Generate maps, reports, and visualizations to support decision-making processes.
Monitor and analyze changes in the mining environment and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
Implement and maintain survey control networks for mining sites.
Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in surveying and GIS.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Geography, Geoscience, Surveying, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Proven experience in surveying and GIS applications.
Proficient in the use of surveying instruments and GIS software (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Carlson).
Part 107 sUAS Certification required. Currently hold or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and industry standards.
Ability to work in challenging outdoor environments and adapt to changing conditions.
