SUMMARY
Employees in Mine Support perform a variety of duties to support general mining and production activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Build Roads
- Cut down road to hard bottom.
- Spread road rock across road surface.
- Apply dust suppressant.
- Repair Roads
- Grade roads to smooth them, pulling material in from the sides.
- Apply dust suppressant.
- Dust suppression of roads as needed.
- Follow established schedule to build and maintain roads.
- Muck sump.
- Tram sump muck.
- Maintain and repair sprinkler systems.
- Operate heavy equipment, including road grader.
- Deliver supplies to underground mine crews, including loading and unloading of supplies.
- Operate service equipment, loaders, fork lifts, and haul trucks underground.
- Housekeeping: including tasks such as shoveling, picking up trash or debris, etc. to ensure a safe work area.
- Operate hand and/or power tools to make minor repairs or for maintenance activities.
- Perform equipment/facility inspection and minor maintenance.
- Communicate using the squawker, station bells, work bells, pager phone, and leaky feeder radio.
- Participate in Risk Assessment activities as required.
- Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as required.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Proven safe work record required.
- Excellent attendance history required.
- Willingness to work in team-based environment required.
