Mindfulness 360 Specialist - This is an in-person position, primarily based in Richmond, CA with frequent travel to different work sites around the Bay Area, Central Coast, Stockton, and more.

The individual in this role will have an entrepreneurial mindset, be detail oriented, enjoy leading services, appreciate diversity, work well in teams and closely align with and represent MLP's mission, vision and values.The Mindfulness 360 Specialist will be motivated by and appreciate working in collaboration to strengthen MLP's hip hop curriculum to achieve the highest level of impact at our partner schools. MLP prides itself on teaching through different modalities and the individual in this role will focus specifically on bringing strength to our hip hop / performing arts modality. The individual will also communicate well and with a client first approach. This is an exciting position that will help MLP grow its work both locally, statewide and nationally.
Position Description
The Mindful Life Project Mindfulness 360 Specialist will be responsible for ensuring achievement and success of Mindful Life Project Mindfulness 360 Program as well as manage the coordination of MLP's annual album and lead assemblies. Strengthening MLP's music includes collaborating with the Lead Trainer, Program Team, and other individuals to support high level programmatic impact. The individual in this key role will report to the Director of Partnerships.
Specific Responsibilities: Support the implementation of a successful Mindfulness 360 program to support organizational needs. This role travels approximately 40% of the time to frequently changing work sites throughout the year.

  • Deploy a wide variety of learning styles
  • Delivers Mindfulness 360 programs which include leading assemblies, virtual services, class visits, trainings and sessions for educators and families
  • Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver programs to partner schools.
  • The Mindfulness 360 Specialist is charged with acquiring the knowledge, and instructional strategies to effectively impact programmatic implementation and stay up to date on mindfulness, trauma informed and teaching best practices. They must remain knowledgeable about current and past research in the specific content area and other pedagogies relevant.
  • Lead the creation and recording of MLP songs throughout the year
  • Support in leading MLP Staff trainings including embedding MLP Music in Mindful Community and Rise-Up programming.
  • Help coordinate completion of MLP's annual MLP album by engaging staff and students throughout the school year (including instructor and student sign ups for songs, coordinating recording sessions, and videos)
  • Supports weekly virtual sessions for students, parents, and staff - Mindfulness 360
  • Travel to school sites across the Bay Area, Central Coast, Central Valley, South Bay and other remote work locations as needed, with the expectation to sometimes stay overnight. Must have reliable transportation or coordinate transportation as needed individually.
  • Substitute for internal partnerships as needed
  • This position may require longer hours in a workday, evenings and weekends as necessary.

Education - High School or GED, Associate's degree and/or Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience - At least two years of classroom or school direct service experience. At least two years of leading Mindful Life Project programs.
Skills:
  • High level of mindfulness, personal practice, teaching others and skillfully engaging students, teachers, leaders and stakeholders.
  • Ability to eloquently articulate MLP's mission and programs, and show passion for the mission of MLP.
  • Have a background in writing, recording and performing music
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies.
  • Must possess good judgment and exercise diplomacy in dealing with a variety of constituents.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work appropriately and adapt easily to changing priorities.
  • Able to apply strategic and creative thinking, while being persistent, motivated and energetic, along with the ability to be very detail-oriented.
  • Ability to interact skillfully with high-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to carry up to 20 lbs. of equipment when necessary

  • Sick time: Accrual rate is 1 hour for every 30 hours worked - capped at 120 hours (hours begin accruing on hire date)
