Millwright/Rigger

Fluor has an immediate opening for a Millwright to work in a team environment at a heavy industry work site which operates 24x7 in Montville, CT. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours as needed and be available for call-ins as required. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. This position is currently temporary to backfill personnel on leave.

Job Duties include the following:

• Comply with all Fluor Corporation safety requirements and programs.
• Must have ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Plant Managers, and Part Vendors, amongst others.
• Position requires mechanical aptitude to perform technical and general maintenance work on a variety of pumps (i.e. centrifugal, injector, diaphragm, etc.), motors, equipment, air handlers, building exhaust fans, and air compressors.
• Position requires ability to work at heights with ladders, scissor lifts and articulating booms.

Millwrights perform the following duties:

• Installing equipment, repairing items, and transferring machinery to needed locations.
• Preventive Maintenance: identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts.
• Rigging
• Precision Maintenance with bearings, couplings, gearboxes, seals, bushings, interference fits, torque, pumps, rotating equipment, lubrication, etc.

Experience and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 5 years of preventive maintenance experience in an Industrial setting preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of bearings, couplings, gearboxes, seals, bushings, shrink fits, torque, pumps, rotating equipment, lubrication, etc.
• Mechanical and technical skills allowing one to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints is required.
• Knowledge of standard and specialized maintenance practices and safety procedures is required.
