Millwright

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Millwright with expertise in pump alignments, base plate installations, and maintenance within the context of paper mills or industrial manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various machinery, with a particular focus on pumps. The role requires a strong mechanical background, precision in alignment techniques, and the ability to work efficiently to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Pump Alignment and Installation:

   • Perform precision alignments of pumps using laser and traditional alignment tools.
   • Install and align base plates for pumps and associated equipment.
   • Ensure the proper foundation and structural support for stable equipment placement.

2. Maintenance and Repair:

   • Execute routine maintenance tasks on pumps, motors, and related machinery.
   • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in pump systems to minimize downtime.
   • Collaborate with the maintenance team to address mechanical failures promptly.

3. Machinery Overhaul:

   • Participate in the overhaul and refurbishment of machinery, including pumps and associated components.
   • Work with engineering specifications to ensure proper assembly and alignment.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, alignments, and installations.
   • Generate detailed reports on equipment conditions, work performed, and recommendations for improvements.

5. Safety and Compliance:

   • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or vocational training in millwrighting or a related field is a plus.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Millwright, with a focus on pump alignments, base plate installations, and maintenance in paper mills or industrial manufacturing settings.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and equipment manuals.

Skills:

• Proficient in the use of precision tools, including laser alignment equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of various pump types, including centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
• Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.
