Millwork Operation Shop Apprentice 1 Pd

Summary/Objective

Flexible, results-driven team player with the ability to performing multiple tasks, follow directions, obey all safety procedures.

Essential Functions  

• Join Carpenters local 1319 Apprenticeship program.
• Maintain a culture of SAFETY, discipline and effective communication.
• Practice operational values and the implementation of the 3-Phases of Quality Control.
• Read and learn how to understand blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications maintained in Construction Sets and Work Orders specific for each job.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Assist co-workers.
• Be punctual.
• Attend the carpenter apprentice union training program classes – 1 week, paid, every quarter.
• Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds and occasionally more.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous woodshop courses and basic tool knowledge helpful.
• Willing to learn commercial casework and millwork industry fabrication methods.
• Ability and willingness to gain proficient computer skills.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in a factory setting.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Shop fabrication activities and loading and unloading of raw materials, product and tools/equipment require regular physical lifting.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly union position.

Travel

This position requires 10% occasional travel to jobsites.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. Must pass a pre-employment screen, including but not limited to: drug and alcohol screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, reference check and physical (if applicable).
2. Current and valid drivers’ license in the state of permanent residence (must be insurable by Jayne’s automobile insurance carrier in order to drive a Jayne’s vehicle).
