Job description

Summary/Objective

Flexible, results-driven team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.

 

Essential Functions

  • Maintain and promote a culture of discipline and effective communication.
  • Promote and display operational values and the implementation of the 3-Phases of Quality Control.
  • Coordinate effective installation planning and execution while working with project teams, superintendents, and supporting subcontractors.
  • Read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications maintained in a Field Binder specific for each job.
  • Utilize liberating leadership techniques to train and effectively manage installation crews.
  • Attend and participate in handoffs required prior to the start of any job at which time the following will be distributed and discussed:

                - Construction Drawings

                - Installation method and sequence

                - Installation Budget

                - Cost Codes

                - Schedule

  • Gain knowledge of assigned project scopes, schedules, deliverables, and personnel.
  • Plan and manage site installation activities while supervising assigned crews.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, uniform-building codes, ADA codes, local ordinances, and meeting the highest standard of quality.
  • Organize, manage, and inventory shipments of millwork product and hardware upon arrival to jobsite with emphasis on the use and filing of shipping tickets.

 

  • Fill out and maintain: Daily reports, Weekly work plans, and Timecards for self and install crew daily with a thorough evaluation and completion by the last working day of each week with proper job numbers and cost codes.
  • Fill out and maintain as needed: Absence Reports, Problem Discussion Forms, Injury Reports, etc.
  • Daily management, review and approval of timecards
  • Take part in and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds and occasionally more.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial casework and millwork industry fabrication and installation methods.
  • Complete knowledge of AWI standards.
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize, manage to-do lists, and work under deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to gain proficient computer skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position may require supervisory responsibilities contingent upon needs of the company.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a variety of construction environments which will include working in extreme weather conditions and noise levels.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

Assistance in field installation activities and or loading and unloading of product and tools/equipment require a need to perform regular physical lifting and carrying product and tools regularly. 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly union position.

 

Travel

This position requires travel to assigned jobsites.

 

 

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must pass a pre-employment screen, including but not limited to: drug and alcohol screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, reference check and physical (if applicable).
  2. Current and valid drivers’ license in the state of permanent residence (must be insurable by Jayne’s automobile insurance carrier in order to drive a Jayne’s vehicle).
