Receive raw milk based on the daily schedule, assist with cream load-outs, and CIP’ing of bulk tankers. This position is a full-time night position the work hours are 5:00 pm to 5:00 am on an alternative work schedule.
Job Duties
- Sample all incoming raw milk tankers for the purpose of performing quality testing as required
- Review and maintain records pertaining to "General Laboratory" requirements in accordance with
- Understand, follow, and complete all Charm SL6 procedures and documentation set forth by the FDA Pasteurized Milk Ordinance, meeting Michigan Department of Agriculture regulatory agency supervision.
- Scale tankers in/ out; complete documentation as required.
- Load/ Unload raw milk tankers; complete documentation as required. Load Cream tankers; complete documentation as required.
- all bulk tankers; perform manual cleaning as necessary. Complete all related documentation including wash tag PMO requirements
- CIP raw milk silos and receiving line circuits as required; perform manual cleaning as necessary
- Complete all related documentation including CIP charts PMO
- Check, fill and monitor CIP day-tanks and CIP systems as necessary
- Communicate with wet process operator as required.
- Complete testing of raw milk samples for % butterfat, % total solids
- Perform general housekeeping duties and Master Sanitation Schedule tasks as necessary
- Perform limited maintenance as required
- Minimize water usage and the generation of wastewater within the scope of the position
- Follow all Valley Milk GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements
- Follow all safety regulations.
- Ensure and maintain compliance to all regulatory, food safety, GMPs, EPA, OSHA, FDA, CDFA, and SQF requirements
- Satisfactory complete all required annual safety requirements: including bloodborne pathogens, lock out/tag out, dust control, etc
- Perform other tasks as required
Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Proficient in basic math and reading comprehension. Ability to use direct reading instruments and devices in which interpretation is not required. Perform basic quality testing as necessary, including but not limited to; antibiotics, TA, DMC, total solids %, butterfat %, and solids non-fat %. Understand the receiving process to effectively troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Must be able to complete and maintain certification as an approved analyst for raw milk antibiotic testing, using the Charm SL6 method through the California Department of Agriculture
