Job Description
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques based on the specifications of the project.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding diagrams, and technical drawings to determine the appropriate welding process.
- Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding by grinding, sanding, or scraping.
- Position and secure workpieces using clamps, jigs, and fixtures, ensuring proper alignment.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, following specified welding procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor welding process to ensure proper fusion and penetration, making adjustments as necessary.
- Inspect welded joints for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a MIG Welder or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Familiarity with welding safety practices and procedures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Welding certification (e.g., AWS certification) is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise welding tasks.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights.
