Qualifications:
Education/Certification
Bachelor's degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate
Master's degree or additional certifications preferred

Knowledge and experience implementing best practices in instruction
Knowledge and experience using a variety of assessment tools and analyzing student data Demonstrated success in communicating effectively with teachers, principals, parents, students, and paraprofessionals
Demonstrated ability to consult with and facilitate groups
Ability to work closely with the building administrator to coordinate and implement the work of a professional learning community
Working knowledge of current research and resources related to district and site-based goals, staff development and group processes
Willingness to serve as a reliable and accessible resource Demonstrated effectiveness in classroom teaching Previous experience working with adult learners Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
Evidence of a dedication to the practice of life-long learning
Strong organizational, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
A minimum of three years successful classroom teaching experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies
1. Introduces teachers to methods, materials, and instructional strategies that, through research, have proven to increase student achievement.
2. Models research-based instructional approaches through classroom demonstrations
3. Makes informal classroom observations and provides immediate feedback for the purpose of instructional support and program improvement (not evaluation).
4. Assists teachers in incorporating the use of technology into the instructional program
5. Assists teachers in identifying gaps or needs in the curricular program
6. Assists teachers with integrating effective practices into their content instruction
7. Facilitate professional learning communities where current research on instructional practices is discussed
8. Assist teachers in developing a familiarity with, and the implementation of, the District's scope and sequence
Progress Monitoring:
9. Provide assessment support to teachers through collaborative analysis of student work, formal, and informal assessments.
10. Assist the teachers in developing effective methods to monitor the progress or all students, and offer suggestions for interventions where needed
11. Serve on the campus data team to disaggregate data used in planning curricular and instructional program improvements at the campus, classroom, and individual student level
12. Assist teachers in developing sound, defensible procedures for assessing student progress and for reporting that progress to students and parents in a timely manner
Professional Growth and Development
13. Support the campus administrator and District Leadership Team in the creation of the campus' overall professional development plan
14. Participate fully in professional development for coaches, including professional research, reading, and training outside of normal work hours
15. Provide informal, ongoing professional development to teachers at point of need
16. Provide formal, ongoing professional development as requested by campus administration or the Curriculum Director
17. Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers
18. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required
19. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required
Communication:
20. Establish and maintain open communication with principals, teachers, and the District Curriculum Department
21. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
22. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
Customer Care Skills
23. Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff, and other professionals at all times.
24. Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to the appropriate staff.
25. Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.
26. Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.
27. Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move text books and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
