Excelsior Online Education’s Bridge the Gap program is an auxiliary service that is provided to schools and districts to help close foundational gaps for students’ learning path. Our goal is to provide an extra layer of support for students inside and/or outside of the classroom. We provide them with the opportunity to ask questions, build strong foundations, and bridge the gap. We work in a variety of different settings and aim to build tailored learning programs for the specific needs of each student. We also utilize online adaptive learning solutions to strengthen learners’ foundational gaps through diagnostic assessments. Our programs offer in-person and remote sessions that are typically one hour long, multiple times a day.
Role Description
Seeking accredited teachers to work in-person to help support schools and students in the Los Angeles area.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Provide 1:1 and small group (up to 5 students) academic intervention through virtual Zoom sessions.
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ specific academic deficits and instructional needs.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to understand curriculum pacing, upcoming assessments, and specific challenges students are facing.
- Modify and adjust intervention strategies based on data and feedback to ensure students are making consistent progress.
- Utilize appropriate educational technology tools to enhance intervention.
- Provide regular feedback to classroom teachers regarding students’ progress.
- Create, adapt, or source supplementary instructional materials designed for intense intervention.
- Prepare detailed reports to highlight and track students’ progress.
- Implement and model positive behavior support strategies to foster a productive and positive learning environment.
- Work with classroom teachers to address and mitigate any behavioral challenges that may arise during intervention.
- Incorporate culturally responsive teaching methods, acknowledging and respecting the diverse backgrounds of all students.
- Assist with homework assignments, ensuring students not only complete them but also understand the content.
Qualifications (required)
- Valid state teaching credentials
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Strong communications skills
- Available during the weekday hours of 8:00 A.M - 4:00 PM
