Job Description:Middle School Counselor
Purpose: The Middle School Counselor employed by Fulton Science Academy is instrumental in the overall vision of the school in providing the highest level of service to all students in both academic growth and personal/social development.
Reports to: Head of Middle School
Salary: Annual Contract
Date: Fall 2024
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in School Counseling from an accredited college/university.
- Current Georgia Certificate in School Counseling (P-12) with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Expectations:
- Provides individual counseling and classroom guidance as part of a comprehensive school counseling model for students addressing personal/social, academic, career and family concerns.
- Supports the training of faculty and facilitation of the social/emotional curriculum component for Middle School.
- Consults with parents, teachers, administrators, and supporting agencies to maximize services for our students.
- Maintains confidential records and facilitate appropriate information sharing on a needs to know basis with faculty.
- Assists with the process of testing, data collection, and overall academic program when needed.
- Assists with the activities of student organizations and events when needed.
- Keeps abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques.
- Observes school policies at all times.
- Adheres to all school health and safety policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of Middle School.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
